Congratulations to Michael Gilbertson, a 2006 Hempstead High School graduate, on being a finalist for the 2018 Pulitzer Prize in Music. Gilbertson’s composition “Quartet” was honored in the competition.

An administrative rule change by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), Bureau of Immunization, REQUIRES MENINGOCOCCAL (A, C, W, Y) VACCINE FOR STUDENTS ENROLLING IN 7TH AND 12TH GRADES in addition to other vaccination requirements.
STUDENTS IN THESE GRADES MUST HAVE A VALID IMMUNIZATION CERTIFICATE ON FILE TO ATTEND SCHOOL.

Student pep buses will be available for transportation to and from the game.
Cost is $28 (which includes transportation and a ticket to the game).
The bus will depart from Hempstead at 9:30 a.m.
GRAB A SIGN-UP FORM OUTSIDE THE ACTIVITY OFFICE TO TAKE THE PEP BUS!
Parents: If your child is going to attend that game on the bus or on their own please call school before Wednesday to report their absence.
