IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR 2022 SENIORS

Awards Assembly – The Awards Assembly for students/parents will be held on Monday evening, May 16th from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Hempstead Auditorium. Students who will be receiving an award will receive an invitation to this event.
Seniors’ Last Day – The last day of class for seniors is Thursday, May 19th. All classroom responsibilities must be completed by the end of the day, and your locker must be cleaned out. Students may pick up their cap and gown on Thursday, May 19th over the lunch hour. Students will be responsible for their cap and gown from the time they are issued until after graduation. Laptops and chargers will be returned in the hallway next to the cap and gown pick-up area.
Graduates may retain your cap, tassel, sashes, honor cords, and gown. REFER QUESTIONS ON CAPS AND GOWNS TO THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS’ OFFICE.
Edgenuity – Any Senior who is enrolled in an online credit recovery course (Edgenuity) must have all coursework completed on or before Thursday, May 19th at 3:00 p.m. If you are enrolled in an Edgenuity course and have any questions about your progress, please see Ms. Link in the Counseling Office.
Gold Sashes – Gold sashes will be handed out at graduation rehearsal to those students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0-3.99.
White Sashes – White sashes will be handed out at graduation rehearsal to those students who have a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or higher.
NHS Cords – NHS cords will be handed out at graduation rehearsal to those students who are NHS members.
Mustang Service Award Pins – Mustang Service Award pins will be handed out at graduation rehearsal to those students who have documented 75 or more hours of service.
Graduation Rehearsal – Rehearsal will be held at Dalzell Field on Friday, May 27th at 12:00 p.m. Attendance is mandatory. ALL SENIORS WHO PLAN TO TAKE PART IN THE COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES MUST BE PRESENT FOR THE REHEARSAL UNLESS SPECIFICALLY AND INDIVIDUALLY EXCUSED IN ADVANCE BY MR. KOLKER. Parking is available in the Clarke University parking lot off of Clarke Drive. If you are NOT planning to participate in the ceremony, call or stop by the Main Office. If rehearsal is rained out, more information will follow about the distribution of graduation materials.
Parchment/Transcripts – All seniors, regardless of their post-high school plans, should create an account in Parchment in order to facilitate the sending of Hempstead transcripts to employers or colleges/universities. If you have not created a Parchment account, please refer to your school email for messages from Parchment.
NCAA/NAIA Transcripts – If you are a student-athlete planning to participate in collegiate sports at an NCAA or NAIA institution, your high school transcript MUST be sent directly from the Hempstead Registrar’s office. Please complete a transcript release form, which is available in the Counseling Office.
Immunization Records – At graduation practice, you will receive the school district’s only copy of your immunization record. Make sure that you take this document home, show it to your parent/guardian, and file it in a safe and retrievable place.
Graduation – The graduation ceremony will be held at Dalzell Field on Saturday, May 28th at 10:00 a.m. Seniors are to report to their seats no later than 9:30 a.m.
Photography – The photographer will take a picture of students as they receive their diploma. More information from the district will be coming out about the details.
Selective Service – All male students are reminded that you must register with the Selective Service when you turn 18. Failure to do so may impact your eligibility for financial aid. Registering for selective service is the law. Go to www.sss.gov.
Diplomas – Seniors not participating in the graduation ceremony can pick-up their diploma at the Hempstead Main Office starting June 1st. Graduating seniors should use the visitor entrance.
